Walkaways- Skyfall

Yesterday at 16:30 my biggest worry was how I was going to finish 8 chapters of a book I had to read and 3 critical essays in 10 hours. By 17:00 after the news of the killing of Ahmed Jabari, the head of all armed forces of Hamas and many deadly attacks on Israel including Gilad Shalit's kidnapping, I was packing my bags wondering if I'd be able to make it to the Beer Sheva train station before the rockets start falling. There had been escalation since Sunday when 4 soldiers were seriously injured in an attack on their jeep near the Gaza border. The IDF struck back and on that day 45 rockets hit southern Israel, including two in Beer Sheva. I wasn't in the city on that day but I understood from friends that as scary as it was, it had become something normal-university went on as usual and when I came on Monday there was more fuss about the rare and heavy rainfall than the rockets which were already old news. A few weeks ago I had a discussion with some friends on whether to live in a city where occasional rockets are a normal thing that just happen and no one really cares about or to undergo an operation in Gaza in which all of the cities of the south are under heavy fire but afterwards there's quiet and normativity. It's a pretty tough call to make but from what I've heard in the last few months (and years actually) and what I've felt yesterday and today it seems that the citizens of the South have decided that after 12 years and 12,000 rockets enough is enough and they're willing to endure non stop sirens and trips to bomb shelters (or in most cases the stairways) if it means that there will be the possibility of living a quiet and normal life in the near future. At least a more normal life.

This is the end
Hold your breath and count to ten
Feel the earth move and then
Hear my heart burst again

For this is the end
I’ve drowned and dreamt this moment
So overdue I owe them
Swept away, I’m stolen

Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together

Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At skyfall
At skyfall

Skyfall is where we start
A thousand miles and poles apart
Where worlds collide and days are dark
You may have my number, you can take my name
But you’ll never have my heart

Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together

Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At skyfall

[2x]
(Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall)

Where you go I go
What you see I see
I know I’d never be me
Without the security
Of your loving arms
Keeping me from harm
Put your hand in my hand
And we’ll stand

Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together

Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At skyfall

Let the sky fall
We will stand tall
At skyfall

The up and coming Walkaways made an amazing cover to Adele's hit-it's so powerful and emotional-and it's also great metal, something I find a bit hard to find!
